Program Not Responding?

Walter Goldschmidt

I get this message a lot on different programs mainly WLM and Computer. I've
never had this problem until I went to Win7. I can live with it but it is
aggravating. Anyone have any solutions?

Program is probably waiting for some resource to reply/become available.

My little netbook does this sometimes eg If I go to File, Page Setup in a
long document (I use Word 2000 & Win7 Starter) if but it sorts itself out if
I'm patient and don't start clicking repeatedly or trying to close the
document (my first impulse). By the time I've put the kettle on to boil or
dusted my computer desk, all is well again. Although this delay didn't
happen as often in Windows 2000 I did have many more crashes and system
freezes which were far worse.

I found the same to be true if I just wait but if anyone knows a fix that
would be great. XP and Vista never did this.

I have the same situation with large Documents in MS Excel, when
closing the document. The "Program Not Responding" comes up for
sometime while closing.
Under XP and Vista the document just sat there and took 2mins to
close. The only diffence is that now there is a message, under XP &
Vista there was none
Same delay now there is a message
