Print selected area not shown

In Word 2010, you can still print a selected area as you used to be able
to do but, on the print menu, the page does not display the selection.
Does anyone know how to fix this since it's a useful reminder.

I admit that the macro I recorded many years ago for this purpose still
works so I don't really have to go thro the print menu.

To print a block of text, mark the block of text you want to print in
your document and choose Print Selection from the Settings button menu.

Thanks, I thought I had indicated that your suggestion was what I did
but perhaps I wasn't clear. What I'd like to see is the selected block
indicated when I go to the Print sub-menu.
