Outlook keeps corrupting

For the last week I've had a problem with my Outlook 2007 inbox corrupting, and it telling me that I need to let it run a scan. However, the next time I open it I get the same error message (and every other time!).

After disabling all the addons, it seems as if iTunes placed an addon which starts up with Outlook. Disabling this means I don't get the error any more, and I can't even begin to understand why iTunes would want to hook in to Outlook.

If anyone else gets this error, go to the "trust centre" on the Tools menu and then see if you have the iTunes add-in too.
