Hello
I am having an issue with a user running Microsoft Project 2007. The problem i
that when he would attempt to open a .mpp file by double clicking on it,
erro
message would come up stating that <file path>/<file name> is not
valid with32 application. When attempting to open the same .mpp file by openin
Project and clicking file > open, the user is able to open the file. I hav
looked in the Microsoft Project forums for this issue and they have stated tha
it looks more like a windows problem and to post here. Any help would be muc
appreciated

It looks like a problem with the file association for .mpp files. What
path and file are represented by "<file path>/<file name>"?

I would have the user right click on the .mpp file and select Open
With. Browse to the Project executable and see if the file opens. If
so, do it again and this time be sure to put a check in the box to
"Always use this application".

Change the .mpp file association to something else in Control Panel |
Default Programs (eg Notepad.exe). Reboot. Change the file association
back to Project. Reboot.

Sorry, but no idea.

Hopefully someone will come up with a solution. If you do solve it,
please remember to post back in the group (maybe start a new thread if
it is some time in the future) so we can all benefit.
