I cannot find any high quality Screen Recording software that will work on Win 7.
Camtasia Studio 6 installs fine and I have tried ALL compatibilty settings, still NO GO.
ADOBE Captivate 4 will not work either.
I have tried several others, all with the same results.

Outside of me posting 100 different error messages does anyone have a clue where I should start with this problem?

I have been a beta tester for MS since 1992 and this issue has confounded me more than anything I have encountered.

BTW I run an AMD Phenom-X4, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 9800 GT, 4GB ReadyBoost and have DivX and all other CODECS freshly updated.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Does CamStudio work? http://camstudio.org/

That seems to work in Windows 7 from what I've read. :)

You could try disabling Aero in W7 if it still fails, as that could be causing problems for the screen recorders.

Duhhhh

Well there goes 27 years of testing down the drain!

Switching off AERO should have been the FIRST (or second) thing I tried.

I am humbled by the sneakiness of my stupidity.

Well I'm always willing to admit when I'm wrong.

:adore: Thank you Ian :adore:

Darcy

I turned off Aero & all my saved passwords etc. in IE8 disappeared.

Try camstudio as Ian suggested. That's probably the best for Windows 7.
I tried Hypercam 2 a long time ago, and even though it works, I wouldn't recommend it, as it corrupted some system files on all machines I tried it on.
So try camstudio.

Cheers,
