No key

Oh... we don't have the Key for the MS Word Program because we don't use it
and never tried it. I was under the mistaken belief there was a grace
period. We don't want to spend money for software we don't use. Once the
Dec are open, we'd not use the program again.

Suggestion: when you follow up on a post, post it as a reply in the
original thread.

That way it makes some kind of sense.

To open your document, please install this Microsoft pack:

You can't edit any documents using this but you can read them.

You're options
1. If pre-installed by the OEM machine builder, the version may be a trial (your OEM is responsible for support and installation),
if not a trial it was included as either an Office suite or individual product or a trial for Office 365 (subscription based after
trial)
2. Signup for the Office 365 trial - Office 2013 suite of products once trial ends, subscription $/mo is necessary to continue use
3. Purchase the appropriate stand-alone (no subscription required) Office 2013 suite of programs or purchase Word

Fyi...the current version of Office is Office 2013 and has some licensing differences versus prior versions. Additionally, Office
2013 retail versions do not include media...all are download versions from the MSFT Office web site and include one product key and
solely for use on one single computer (i.e. one can no longer install the same version/product key on a pc and also on another
device).

You can read more about it here:

Is there a question in there somewhere?

As others have said, you don't need to be able to open your documents to be
able to send them. Opening and sending are two unrelated actions.
