Network activity icon in taskbar missing

Hello everyone,

I'm new here on this forum and hope to get some answers on my quest to the lost icon in the Windows7 taskbar.
With XP I could see the activity on my networkdevices, those flickering blue screen right down in the taskbar. But in WIndows7 I cannot see any activity.

Is there anybody who can help me find back these icons in Windows7?

Windows 7 doesn't come with that feature anymore, however there is some freeware which does the trick : http://www.paulmather.net/lanlight.asp
