i recently upgraded my computer (basically building a new one) for high end graphics/gaming

specs include:
-AMD Athlon II X4 Processor 3.1 GHz w/ 2.0 MB total cache
-MSI 890GXM-G65 motherboard (AM3)
-ATI Radeon HD 5670 1024 MB Graphics Card (PCI-E)
-WD Caviar Black SATA 1 TB Hard Drive (32 MB Cache @ 7200 RPM)
-8 GB RAM
-600 watt power suply

when running graphic-heavy programs (ie: games, graphic design software), randomly i will get a blue screen that says (towards the bottom of the screen) a physical crash dump took place and then my computer immediately restarts.

since it only seems to happen while gaming, i assume it's a graphics card/driver/overheating issue

not really sure since almost ALL the hardware in my computer is new, including the case and power supply.

thinking that it was just overheating, i installed 2 additional fans inside the case, and opened up one side while an external fan blew into it. the blue screen crash dump error persists. whenever in-game, however, the graphics run very smoothly with almost no skipping/slowdown, even on highest settings.

i have included the files located in the Minidump folder. i would really appreciate any help that anyone could offer in fixing this problem.

Hello and welcome.

1) Uninstall Kaspersky in safe mode with the tool here:

http://windows7forums.com/blue-screen-death-bsod/50402-removal-tools-antivirus-software-drivers.html

Reboot and install MSE to replace it.

2) This file is too old for Windows 7. Delete it and then reboot:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\DRHARD64.sys
Image name: DRHARD64.sys
Timestamp: Thu Dec 01 04:39:47 2005 (438EC4E3)
CheckSum: 00011BA1
ImageSize: 00008000
Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

3) Update the Realtek lan driver:

Rt64win7 Rt64win7.sys Thu Feb 26 04:04:13 2009

RTL8111

4) Uninstall MagicTune. The driver is too old:

MTictwl MTictwl.sys Tue Nov 04 02:40:50 2008

5) Uninstall AMD Overdrive or similar to remove AODDriver2.sys

Enjoy.

Yep, it should be fine. Kaspersky is the major issue but the other definitely need to be done too. Please keep us updated on how it's going after you're done. :)

i followed the steps you listed, restarted my computer, started up a game to test it, and it crashed again ater about 15 minutes.

this time, however, there was no blue screen (at least not one that popped up) it just immediately resarted

when the computer started up again, this message appeared:

also, when i start up my computer, it says i need to install .NET framework 2.0.

when i try to install it, it says i need to "Turn on or off Windows Features" to install.

i go to control panel>>programs>>turn windows features on or off, but im not sure what i need to turn off to install it. do i turn off everything? would installing the .NET framework help the problem at all?

0x124 stops are typically not good. They mean hardware is defective almost always. (Those old drivers can be triggering a false positive here though.)

Because of the nature of this latest crash, I can not see the drivers or what you have completed. Double check everything I've shown and make sure those drivers I said to delete are gone.

Also for now too, download and run CPU-Z. Post a screenshot of both the spd and memory tabs.

No, .NET Framework is absolutely unrelated to the problem.

Post any new crash dumps when they happen. If you are overclocking, set default values.

ok i will try it. interesting note about the hardware though seeing as how all my hardware is brand new except for the dvd burner, blu ray player, and RAM

ok here are the screenshots (*.pdf format). i had already set all BIOS values to default, but i did it again to double check

i REALLY hope its not hardware related

going back to retry the previous steps again

i tried going to the link you provided for realtek lan drivers, but it seems the dl mirrors are all down for the windows 7 driver files.

i then found them at http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/drivers/ethernet/companies/realtek/models/rtl8100b(l)/wrong_code/12724.html

i hope this is the right file. i downloaded it extracted contents of archive, but there doesnt seem to be any kind of .exe or setup file. do i ust copy and paste the contents somewhere?

ill include the downloaded drivers with attatchment

It is definitely a hardware issue.

Cool, we found it though. The memory is set all wrong in the bios, which happens often with default settings.

You want to make it so that the memory is operating at 667 MHz instead of the way it is now at 776. (make it 3.5:10 FSB:RAM if possible, instead of 3.)

Set the timings manually too at 9-10-10-25.

To do so,

Change the current 9 tRCD RAS# to CAS# Delay to be 10.

Change the current 9 tRP RAS# Precharge to be 10.

Change the current 24 tRAS Cycle Time to be 25.

Post new screen shots of CPU-Z when done. Good luck.

No, wrong file.

It's not down at all:

Here's a Rapidshare link too I made for you:

3.5:10 as I posted it.

All bios are different. Perhaps you can enter 667 MHz for the frequency straight without dealing with the ratios.

Yep, cool.

When you get to the memory settings, if it does not say "auto", then set it to auto and don't make any other changes. Save.

If it doesn say auto, then set it up like I've shown, by hand.

Then post the CPU-Z tabs again, either way.

ok under the FSB:RAM settings the only options i have are 1:2, 1:2.66, 1:3.33, 1:4, and AUTO

under the "cell menu" option, the only memory settings i seem to have are MEMORY-Z, Advance DRAM Configuration, and FSB/DRAM Ratio

its tough to find answers online too because everyone seems to have different versions of BIOS like you said

i can view the speed/timing settings for the memory, but cant seem to modify them (they are greyed out)
