Hi everyone,

I see from doing some research that this is a common problem - as someone relatively (read: 99%) useless with computers, is there an Idiots 'StepbyStep Guide' so I can watch YouTube vids etc?

Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated

Hello and welcome. Please see the sticky thread in this section of the forum on how to post the crash dumps. I'll check on it for ya and advise.

As per the p.m., all you have to do is go to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy all of the files there to another folder anywhere. Then zip the files. Attach the zip here.

Yep, it's what I needed.

1) Download the McAfee removal tool here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/78961-av-uninstallers.html

Reboot to safe mode and run it to remove McAfee. Then boot to normal mode and install MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

2) Update your Realtek HD Audio driver.

RtkHDAudio

Download this: "Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file)"

Run it. Let it finish. Reboot. Then run it again to completion.

3) This Intel video driver is crashing on you:

igdkmd64 igdkmd64.sys Wed Mar 31 18:47:01 2010

Install this to update it:

(Let me know if it installs well for you and how it's going. Good luck.)
