KB2559049 Configuration Failure

Hi,

The KB2554049 cumulative security update won't configure on my W7
32-bit Home Premium after a restart and I've tried all the utilities
on Microsoft's site to no avail. I wonder if anyone else has had this
problem and has found a work-around. All the other updates in the
recent batch go in OK.

Thanks - Joe

Might have been a bad download. Don't remember where it is, but there is
a update repair utility built into win 7.
Sorry can't be of more help.

Ken,

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I've given up on it for the time
being, having spent two days on it, and am hoping that later there
will be others with the same problem who have found a solution. So I
have now switched to manual updates and de-selected KB2559049.

Hi,

I found from a site that the problem is due to "Trusteer Rapport", a
web page protection program. De installing this, running the KB2559049
update and then reinstalling "Rapport" solved the problem.

Thanks for the closure on this one. I kind of figured it'd be something like
that.
