Internet Explorer 10 Installation

I have upgraded my computer from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1. I am running Internat Explorer 8 Version 8.0.7601.17514IS. When Itry to upgrade my Internet Explorer to 10 with the file EIE10_EN-US_MSN_Win764 I receive the following message "Operating System Not Supported Internet Explorer 10 can only be installed on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or higher." Has anyone encountered this problem and if so have you found a solution.

If I search the Microsoft site it get no match on EIE10_EN-US_MSN_Win764 but a Bing search brings up one reference that it could be a name used to distribute malware. So I'm not sure where you got that file but if it wasn't directly from Microsoft then I suggest you scan your system in safe mode to make sure you have not been infected. See the beginning of my post HERE for the best way to scan.

I think it is best to try IE10-Windows6.1-en-us.exe downloaded directly from Microsoft if you don't want to use Windows Update (which is how I got my IE updated to 10).
