I'm searching for a licensed download of Windows 7 to set up a virtual machine

I need it to run some software that's compatible only with Windows XP, which I can't locate. My plan is to run the software in XP compatibility mode within Windows 7. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
