IE homepage auto logon issues

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
IE 8
Avast Antivirus protection all 7 providers are active
Windows Defender is off
Windows Firewall

Internet Explorer will not save login user ID or passwords. When opening
IE, MSN.com and igoogle both open as home pages, but I have to log into each
page every time I open IE. I have tried setting the cookies for these sites
in the always allow setting under tools and have set the advanced
preferences to not delete temporary Internet files on exit.

What am I missing?

Sorry about this if it is a bit basic, but you do not mention that you most
certainly have autocomplete turned on (in the forms bit of the contents tab
of
the internet options part of something or other - might be tools). There
is an
option there to ask, or not, IE to remember the entries.

You know?
It never ceases to amaze my how many times I can look at something and make
it out to be more complicated than it really is. (Guess that's the geek in
me)
I just deleted my temporary Internet Files and reset the Auto Complete under
the tools menu as you suggested, and viola!

Everything is just where it should be.

Thanks again.
