I upgraded from vista to 7 home premium

Now it appears that somehow everything seems to be working like vista and my old files are gone, my pictures can no longer be viewed but my system says I am running 7 help. I do not have the hard disc. Used a friends upgrade version. Have had brain surgery can not travel really need to fix...

It is quite possible you did a custom install rather than an actual "upgrade". See if you have a WINDOWS.OLD folder and if so then try the Fix-it from Microsoft >>HERE<<.

Hopefully the product key you used is not the same one your friend is using because that would not be legal and could end up with both yours and your friends computers being flagged as illegal copies by Microsoft Windows Activation Technologies.
