A little help please. I'm a new user to Windows 7, using XP previously. I have an HP309c printer and when you use the installation disk it shuts down. I was able to get the correct drivers for it but I don't have the shortcut on the desktop that would allow you to control what you wanted to do with it, create a pdf file, photo print etc. I went into the control panel to see if i could set it up frpm there but no luck. I can create a shortcut for printer on the desktop but not a shortcut for the control panel. Any help on how to do that?

BRK, welcome to the forum! You can click the Start Menu (that Windows symbol in the lower left corner of the screen), from there you'll see a list. "Devices and Printers" are the third option from the bottom. Click onto that, and you should be able to access your printer, as long as it's installed.

Best of Luck,
Cat
