halo 2 for vista on windows 7(problem)

Hai.

I've got Halo 2 for Vista, and I had a Vista laptop earlier, which was too sucky for it.
Now, ive got a new laptop with Windows 7, and i thought it would work.
It works to the point where I press play on the launcher window.
What does this mean?
That dedicated thingy, I've got no idea what means.
What to do?

I have seen this issue discussed on the Net, I do not have Halo 2 yet but from what I read it is something to do with the version of Windows Live in windows 7 being an updated version which Halo 2 doesn't like.

Install the Games for Windows Live update patches from Windows Update.

Well, it hasn't shown anything related to this since I downloaded the Games for Windows thingy.
