Frequent Engine Initialization Message in IE9

I keep on getting "Engine Initialization Failure" messages when IE
tries to open a website. What does this mean? I have version
9.08.8112.16421; Update version 9.0.5.

Do you have some toolbar installed ?

Also, what's the AV status of the platform ? Have you been infected
in the past, "fixed it", and the system is otherwise operating
correctly ? If you've been compromised at some point in the past,
that might also be a factor in the puzzle. Some collateral damage.
