Desktop Icon layout

In Win XP I had a means to save the current layout of my desktop icons and,
if they ever got mixed up, I could choose to reset them in the memorized
layout order. In Win 7 I don't see how to do that. Any help? I have Win 7
Home Premium, Ver 6.1, Build 7601, SP1. I've tried Win Help with no luck.

Fences, from stardock.com, does that and more for me. It has a free
version and a paid version.

Thanks, Gene, I'll try that.

Under XP, I'm pretty sure it wasn't native; you had probably obtained
EzDesk, iconoid (which still works under 7), or one of many others.

If you have the 64bit version of 7 perform an internet search for
'dips64-setup.exe' and this will solve your problem, using the shift key,
right click on the desktop, save icon positions etc. You may also find a
32bit version in the same place if you have a 32bit version.

There are several free programs, I mention 3, there are more

Windows 7, 32 bit and 64 bit (seperate downloads)
http://www.midiox.com/index.htm?http://www.midiox.com/desktoprestore.htm

When you right click with your mouse at the desktop, you will see two
options: save desktop icons and restore desktop icons. That's it
