At the end of step 7 he says:-

"Now, to get rid of that stupid empty white panel to the left. so
I get this instead:."

and shows an image of his start menu without the left hand white panel
that has the search and all programs items.

He does not say how to get rid of this white panel.

Does anyone here know how to do it?
