changing the path of Music folder

Don

I was trying to change the path of the standard folders My Documents, My
Pictures, and My Music so they would point to my second hard drive. For some
reason the Music folder is not showing me the option of changing its
location. After right clicking and -> properties the General tab shows the
location as C:\Users\don but no option to change this.... like the other
folders did.....

- Does the properties box (accessed by the above) which shows the General tab, also show or not show the other tabs (Sharing,
Security, Previous Versions, Customize and Locations)

That’s the strange thing, it shows all those tabs except the Locations tab?
I have a feeling I screwed up the Registry somehow...

I had a problem with the SendTo function not showing the default locations
and I fixed it by restoring a previous version of the SendTo folder.
Maybe something similar has happened to your Music folder.
There should be a 'Previous Versions' tab listing any copies held in the
system restore. Try restoring one of those, but make sure you have backed
up all your music stuff etc.

You should be able to bypass My Music entirely. Depends on where you get
your music. Eg, you can set your browser's default Save location to the
appropriate location/target. In FF, it's Tools >> Options >> General >>
Downloads >> two choices. In the past, I've checked "Ask me...". FF
remembers the last Save location, so you won't need to change this very
often. You get an Explorer window and can refine (>>change) the save
location at that point, if you wish.

I don't use IE, so I can't help you with that, sorry.

It looks as though you're going into Libraries view rather than the
Explorer one.
Left click on user name, right click on My Documents (My Music, Pictures
etc.), Properties, Location tab, Move....
