Change Image Icons to images

I have a new HP ProBook 4540s notebook running Windows 7. All images are represented by icons including the preview. My previous Pavilion Dv6, also running Win 7, as purchased, showed images in folders and previews as the actual images.
Question: how to I change the icons to the icons to the images?

Try this......
click Start button > in the search box, type folder options > at the top, click View > is there a checkmark on " Always show icons, never thumbnails " ?
If yes,UN-check it > click OK when done.
Now see if your folders show images instead of icons.
