cant bak-up win 7 to a dvd

hay guys iam new to this everytime i try to creat a repair disc i get an error saying system repair disc could not be created. NO MEDIA IN DEVICE. but if i put a dvd or cd in that has something on it no problem. what does no media in device meam

Means you have not inserted a compatible blank dvd.

sloancold, Welcome to the forums! On some brands of computers, you must use non-rewritable DVD's in order to create a system repair disc, recovery discs and backups. And use a good brand for best results.
