cannot rip dvd

I am having problems ripping a dvd in media player when I load the disc to be ripped no rip or rip settings buttons appear on the task bar does that mean that this particular disc cannot be ripped as I have done others with no problem.

My best guess, it is probably a copy protected disk so DRM (Digital Rights Media) won't allow it.

That was my guess but I thought there might be a way round it.

Not with Media Player that I know of but there are numerous DVD Rippers that might work. You could try Handbrake or DVD Shrink (rather old, may not handle latest encryption) or there are numerous paid programs such as WinX DVD Ripper Platinum or Power2Go.
