I've been getting once a day bsod's while playing Starcraft 2 since i purchased it a month ago. I dont have enough time to read it all but it is IRQ/Driver related.

I purchased a i7 930, ASUS P6T Deluxe and GTX 470 around the same time and have installed all the drivers that came with (CD), and also let window do whatever updates it wanted to.

thanks in advance..

Hi, welcome.

It is showing that your video card driver has caused the issue, but that is not the case at all. Please follow everything I say perfectly so this can be fixed.

1) Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and delete these old, problematic drivers:

PxHlpa64 PxHlpa64.sys Wed Mar 12 21:58:17 2008
WibuKey64 WibuKey64.sys Wed Nov 22 07:09:49 2006
pcouffin pcouffin.sys Tue Dec 05 09:39:30 2006

They must go.

Reboot and run Ccleaner to clean the registry,

2) Uninstall notorious Daemon Tools normally. Then carefully use the installer/uninstaller found here to remove, as opposed to update, sptd.sys:

DuplexSecure - Downloads

Reboot. If you still want disc emulation, install PowerISO because emulation part of the software is free forever and it is 100% stable:

http://www.PowerISO.com

3) Uninstall UltraMon - simply, it's too old for stability on Windows 7:

UltraMonUtility UltraMonUtility.sys Thu Nov 13 20:10:30 2008

4) Update your very old Marvell Yukon network driver:

yk62x64 yk62x64.sys Wed May 20 04:14:06 2009

To do so, enter 88e8056 at this link to find the latest driver:

http://www.marvell.com/support.html

5) Update your Marvell Yukon storage driver from your motherboard site:

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=vXixf82co6Q5v0BZ

You want this: "Marvell 6121 SATA Driver V1.2.0.68"

6) Finally, install the latest video card driver from here:

nvlddmkm nvlddmkm.sys Wed Mar 10 14:01:49 2010

NVIDIA

If you follow this all well as I've shown, your machine will be well. Enjoy! :)

Thanks, have completed the above. My internal DVD/Blue Ray Drive has disappeared but all else appears fine. Wont be able to report on the issue being resolved quite yet as it usually only happens once a day or so.

Regarding my Drive.. Windows reports "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.". When I try to update via windows automatic driver search I am told drivers are up to date ?

Not a problem. That's actually a good thing and here's how to fix it:

  1. Click Start

, and then click All Programs.
  2. Click Accessories, and then click Run.
  3. Type regedit, and then click OK.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
  4. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
  5. In the right pane, click UpperFilters.
  6. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
  7. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
  8. In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
  9. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
  10. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
  11. Exit Registry Editor.
  12. Restart the computer.
