I guess I am really getting old (no comments please).

But I thought that Win 7 Pro 64 bit Windows Media Center DVD Player
could play BluRay. It says that I need to install a playback app that
supports BluRay. What is that? Where do I get that? A free one I
hope.

BTW I forgot to mention that both hardware slots have BluRay players
installed.
But I find no apps that play BluRay. Why? because I had to do a
reinstall from a HD failure and probably did not find the BluRay player
software that came with the drives. Is that what I need to find?
Is that what Media Center uses and not its own?

Latest VLC 2.02
Put the .DLL for Win64 in the same folder as VLC.exe
Put the .CFG in a folder that I think is correct but the instructions did
not match up with the way my Win 7 Pro 64but is folderized.
Put it in the logged on user path
C:\Users\Me\AppData\AACS
Also tried
C:\Users\All Users\Application Data

Got this message from VLC when trying to start the disk.
Started VLC from the same folder
Did
Media
Open Disc
checked Blu-Ray
selected Player that shows the correct DVD Blu-Ray title.
clicked the Play button

Message
This Blu-Ray Disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does
not have it.

Do I need to register it or did it not find the .CFG?

I see it there.
I tried both the 32 and 64 version since VLC is in the Program Files 32
folder on this Win 7 64 bit pc.

Dunno, you could use sysinternals processmonitor to see what exactly
files it's attempting to open ...

It is weird.
Put in the 32 bit stuff.

VLC acts like it sees the Blu-Ray now.
The main window changes size and VLC seems to think there are chapters
there but there is nothing I can do to make anything play.

Will work on it more tomorrow.

I also have a 3D version of the movie.
Is there any chance that this will ever play on VLC or do these require
special hardware? Yes, I know that the 3D sets transmit eye info to
glasses for the active type monitors. But what about the Polaroid
types? So maybe a VLC could be used???
Just curious.
I do not have a set to play 3D. Maybe when the price gets further
down.
I really want a projection setup. What do they mean when a projector
is 3D ready?

See if you can get it to work, as described here. Try to play an .m2ts file.

main .m2ts file in the Stream folder & just play that in VLC."

On some OSes, you can run VLC from the command line, and then perhaps
any errors or warnings would be printed in the window it's being run from.
