You can use the DRS Softech MBOX Converter Tool to convert MBOX to EML. The tool can import all your MBOX data to other email clients such as Gmail, Outlook, Zimbra, etc. You can also import MBOX files to EML, MSG, and other file formats. The process to convert MBOX to EML using the MBOX Converter Tool is as follows:
1. Download and install the MBOX to EML converter tool.
2. Open the application and then hit Select File(s) or Select Folders and select MBOX files to convert. Hit Open.
3. View your MBOX file in the preview window.
4. Select the output file format as EML from the dropdown list.
5. Now, specify the destination path using the Browse button to save the resultant output file.
6. Now, hit the Export button to convert MBOX to an EML file.
7. Once the task is done, click on the exit button to shut down the process and application.
Alternatively, You can convert MBOX to EML manually, open the MBOX file in a text editor, and then divide it into separate EML files by breaking messages between "From " headers. Otherwise, use Thunderbird: import the MBOX file, right-click each message → "Save As" → EML format.
But this approach has some drawbacks such as it is Time-consuming for large mailboxes because of manual processing, there is a risk of corruption if headers are not parsed properly and it does not give any bulk conversion every message has to be saved separately.
