32bit vs 64bit

I just got a new computer with Windows7 Professional. I came with 64bit and this does not recognize AutoCad 2000 which is a 32bit based software. Is there a fix or patch or some way to make my software work? Can the hardrive be partioned such that one partition is dedicated to the 32bit environment and the other to the 64bit? Just reaching, as the software upgrade is far too expensive.

What do you mean when you say "does not recognize?"
