Get 'Run as administrator' for .log files in context menu

I understand. No "run" in this case. This log file was produced when I run scannow, and it is C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. When I try to open it (with Notepad), I get "Access is denied". I guess this happens seldom enough so that I can open Notepad and set it to run as admin and then open the...

Get 'Run as administrator' for .log files in context menu

I have not been able to find a general method for adding 'Run as administrator' in Windows 7 context menu. I need it specifically for .log files now, but would like to have a generic method (if such exists) for any file. Help would be appreciated. Hans L

Hello: I cannot find an earlier thread about this (although I started it), and it may be in another forum, so I must bring it up again in this (a separate) thread. I keep placing a link to ClipCache Pro in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup or in C:\Users\[User...

Visual Studio & Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

Hello: I need a little help with the subject. I have installed Visual Studio (I have Windows 7 Ultimate), and I wonder if I, a regular but rather knowledgeable user, need to use it in any way, or just let it "sit there" and do its things? And, I also wonder if I need to install "Microsoft...

I'm the administrator, but not always

Hello: Win7 Ultimate, 64-bit. I am logged in as the administrator, but often, I am prompted to log in to a program as the administrator. That, to a knowledgable but not an expert user, is very confusing. I suspect this might be an issue is one of my scheduling tasks. How do I make sure I am...

Can't I automatically replace corrupt system files?

Yes, but it could not repair some files, and all of the attempted repairs had to do with "speech", so I am not sure that they had anything to do with Help.

Can't I automatically replace corrupt system files?

Hello! I have spent the better half of an hour on the Web to see if could find software to automatically replace corrupt Win 7 system files (Help does not work). "Start in : ..."

Now, I feel a little sheepish for not thinking of telling you that I always have Path\xxx.exe in Target. Wouldn't that make Start in unnecessary?
