XP Pro 32-bit on Win-7 Host

Hello. How can I get sound from outside into the virtual machine. At the moment external sound isn't available. The only sound device available is Intel(r) Integrated Audio, which only works with sounds internal to the virtual XP. Regards Cheemag

    Deleting Third-party System Files

I think the problem may have been caused by my telling Unlocker to delete the file; then the uninstaller could not find it. I'll try the ownership trick and if that doesn't help I'll re-install the application and then uninstall it.

    Deleting Third-party System Files

I've just uninstalled the awful Compro DTV software. Windows will not allow me to delete the drivers and the other files in the system32 folder, even as administrator. Seems it requires something like SYSTEM (?) permissions. How do I, as a humble administrator, get rid of them?

    SOLVED Two IE9s !

Thanks to all who responded. It isn't a problem - I just wondered... I use Firefox v3, which is presumably 32-bit.

    SOLVED Two IE9s !

I have two versions of Internet Explorer 9 on my 64-bit Windows-7 machine; one is a 64-bit version the other presumably 32-bit, although it doesn't specically say so. How do I remove the 32-bit version - I don't need the two, do I?

    SOLVED DVD-RAM

I could not find this post on the forum, so I've quoted it from the EMail: "Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** DVD-RAM is one of three competing technologies for rewritable DVDs. Its competitors are DVD+RW and DVD-RW. DVD-RAM technology provides excellent data...

    SOLVED DVD-RAM

There's no problem between Windows 7 machines. Likely you will have problems with XP. Although it's supposed to be able to format re-writeable media, and presumably use them, (format f: /fs: fat32) this fails on my machine (XP Home SP-2) with the error 'Cannot format. This volume is...

    SOLVED DVD-RAM

Possibly, but there is no point in finalising a disc which you hope to add to/delete from etc later! Yes, I realise that. It's one solution. Yes, OK, except that XP can read from but not write to re-writeable media. I doubt if XP could even format a UDF disc, and even if it could, it would...

    SOLVED DVD-RAM

I only have the one Windows 7 machine ... Why would I want to finalise an RW/RAM disc? The whole point of those is that you are supposed to be able to use them like just like another disc drive - like a large, if rather slow flash drive - which Windows 7 supports. XP on the other hand does...

    SOLVED DVD-RAM

Afternoon! I hope this is a reasonable Forum for this: DVD-RAM discs written in Windows-7 are read-only in XP and read-write in Windows-7. The same is true of re-writeable CDs. Is there a way round this?

    SOLVED MPG to DVD

:( Again many thanks. I didn't know you could preview the DVD before burning it. In fact I know very little about the software. I shall have to learn! Thanks again.

    SOLVED MPG to DVD

Many thanks! Yes I meant it's not in synch - the sound lags the video by about a second. So I'd want +1000 mS. I assume that is good for all future burns, otherwise one's likely to need to burn each DVD twice to get the synch right.

    SOLVED MPG to DVD

I have v3 of that working now. The video is good, but the sound is lagging. Works well with .MPG, which others seem to have trouble with. Is there a setting in the programme which will ensure the sound is always in line with the video?

    SOLVED MPG to DVD

That works well, but the unlocked programme is too expensive for the few DVDs I make.
