SOLVED New Java update released today

That's what davehc told me several posts ago. I may try out the 64 bit IE, the ones from Mozilla, I tried them, they just aren't quite ready yet. I'll download & install the 64 bit Java update, in case I need it. Cat

    SOLVED New PayPal scam email

What does this have to do with PayPal scam emails? This would be more noticeable to all as a new topic. Cat

    VMWare USB Arbitration Service issues

I may just check their forum out. Hopefully, there will be an answer to be found w/o joining. Some forums have members only access to the postings, though. No big deal, I already have a membership there, as I tried out their free server app, but it wasn't my cup of tea. The solution to my issue...

    Top 600

Hopefully we'll get into that top 500 before long. Seems that we've been moving rather fast since I've been monitoring the rankings. I don't know when, but at some point we'll be in a dogfight for every position forward we make. If not before then, most certainly the top 100. Congrats to...

Need Help with Windows 7 Home Premium Boot

I've had the same thing happen to me, several times. The repair or install disc has always bailed me out. So far, I haven't had to enter a key to get going. This is why I now run Linux OS's on a separate HDD, or through a VM. This way, my Windows bootloader doesn't get overwritten. Cat

SOLVED New Java update released today

I've tried a few 64 bit browsers, they're not quite ready yet, so I no longer use them. Now, at least I know what the 64 bit Java is for. Cat

    VMWare USB Arbitration Service issues

This is an on & off issue. At least half of the times that I've used the free VMWare Player, I'm having troubles with the USB Arbitration Service starting. The notice given is that it needs to be enabled on the host, but when I go to Services, I try to start the service, it fails. Plus the...

SOLVED New Java update released today

Do we need both versions installed? I've only had the 32 bit version installed, to my knowledge, I've never had the 64 bit version installed at all. Cat

    SOLVED Latest Malware threat

Actually, the more RAM that you can lend the VM, up to it's cutoff point for the OS (around 3.25GB for XP Mode), the better it'll run. My notebook runs 64 bit OS's in VM's, they perform almost like real machines. And I only have 6GB installed RAM. But seriously, I thought this thread is about...

    SOLVED New PayPal scam email

I'm a PayPal customer myself, and didn't get a similar notice. I use the service on average, 3 to 5 times per month. There's always those who are looking for a fast buck, even resorting to ripping people off. Never respond to such emails, or click onto provided links. If PayPal, or any banking...

SOLVED I think I need some technical advice please, before purchase.

That's what I was talking about, was the optional high performance PSU that was available for my desktop. I wasn't asking for any technical advice in regards to the CPU that I had located, I had already done my research, and the only thing that stood in the way was a higher performing PSU. The...

    SOLVED Latest Malware threat

You mean to say that that the software for your health condition monitoring isn't available in 64 bit 7 or Vista? That being the case, then I suggest that you purchase another computer that will run the software. There are some PC's with 32 bit Windows 7 preinstalled that's not that expensive...

SOLVED I think I need some technical advice please, before purchase.

It is on topic. The OP is seeking technical advice, HP's the wrong ones to be asking (should it be needed down the road). It was a CPU that they offered on similar PC's to mine, all I needed was a PSU. They sell standard & performance ones, I was wanting a performance one for my model. It was...

SOLVED I think I need some technical advice please, before purchase.

HP has delivered me the sorriest support of any OEM that I've ever dealt with. I realize that you came out good on a printer, but they failed me 2 times. The first time, they didn't even want to replace a mouse, more or less a $5 component to them. The 2nd time, no one in tech support could find...

    SOLVED Latest Malware threat

Honesty brkkab, I don't feel that you'll need another 8GB RAM. I realize that you're probably futureproofing, in part due to low RAM prices. You're going to have to do some serious multitasking to push what you have already have to the limit. Your money would be better spent on those games that...
