    SOLVED random bsod's.

oops, forgot to post an update. i brought it into a tech shop and they ran some diagnostics on it and told me that the problem was my dvd drive, so i disconnected it and wouldn't you know, no more bsod's. windows freezing on me still persisted, so i investigated further. i was using microsoft's...

    List of commands for w7

the command prompt seems pretty pointless. the only times i've ever seen it being used/used it myself have been to determine my internal ip and to help repair windows should something go wrong. i use cygwin/mintty for a terminal, though. it provides a unix-like environment to windows and uses...

hopefully nobody minds the double post~ i left the memtest you linked running overnight for 15 passes and it said no errors were found.

    SOLVED random bsod's.

i checked event viewer and it seems like the problem is related to the kernel. i've attached the log for the 18th november (yesterday, when it locked up three times), except for some internet issues which showed up in there as well. http://www.thekokiris.net/SwitchRenn/Errors.zip also, i...

    SOLVED random bsod's.

i loaded the driver verifier and rebooted but it wouldn't load into windows. i saw the "starting windows" screen but soon after it brought me back to the "Asus" screen that lets you access the bios, and when it tried to boot into windows again it told me to launch startup repair. i did notice...

    SOLVED random bsod's.

alright, so i left this for two weeks for a more long-term test to see if what i tried worked. i haven't gotten any bsod's since i flashed the bios, and for a time it even fixed the lock-up issues. in the past week or so however, lock-ups have occurred more frequently (i've had 5 lock-ups in...

    SOLVED random bsod's.

thanks for the reply! certainly a helpful post. from what you've said i would think it's the bios, although i'm not sure why it would have worked fine for the first month or so before deciding to crap out on me. anyway, i've downloaded the latest version and i'll flash it now. hopefully i don't...

    SOLVED random bsod's.

SOLVED: random bsod's. hello everyone! back in july i built my first pc (hurray) and experienced no problems, but more recently since september maybe i keep arbitrarily experiencing lockups and bsod's (even the bsod's lockup sometimes). they appear to be occurring more frequently now which is...

    Windows 7 Desktop Screenshots

i think this is legitimately the best response i've ever received to a screenshot of my desktop before. mucho respecto. and thanks for the welcome.

    Power2go Version 6

if your manufacturer pre-installed it i doubt the installation executable is floating on your hard drive anymore. you could always email cyberlink and ask for a new serial (that is, if they legitimately "tricked" you; i'm not entirely sure how or why they would want to accomplish that, though).

    slow performace

i made a guide recently on debloating windows. have a read of it, hopefully it'll speed up your computer some.
