I use the exact same hardware configuration at work. I checked with one of our senior administrators: the motherboard supports VT and it is always on by default.

I need to get this particular configuration working. Dual boot is easy to configure, however, its a simple matter of, it should work and I want to know why it doesnt.

I have a work around, already. I am getting VMware workstation from a co-worker to use for now. It just irks me that Microsofts software is screwing up - again.

Jesse, it won't work if you haven't installed chipset drivers for your motherboard... are you sure you've installed the latest chipset drivers for it?

Chipset Drivers worked! I had to find the original driver cd that came with my motherboard. After about 4 restarts I got all the drivers installed and XP mode works.

Thank you

I'm purchasing a new PC with Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit to take advantage of the XP mode feature. Does this mean that the XP mode will be also 64 bit ? In other words if I want the XP mode to be 32 bit, then would I have to install Windows 7 Professional - 32 bit and not the 64 bit version ?... Thanks for your help.

I think XP mode is 32 bit regardless of 64 or 32 bit host. I had not been able to play with the XP mode this past weekend because I went out of town. I will let you know for sure tonight.
