XP clean install

I have XP SP3 ( Media Edition 2005 ) --

I do not get the "Drive options (advanced)" displayed so that I can delete partitions;
can anyone offer help?

Also, any XP users get the
Blue Screen *** STOP: 0x0000005C (0x0000010B, 0x00000003, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
during clean install ?

Are these your posted at Windows Client TechCenter ?

It appears this error is linked to Vista and Bios updates also.
Have you checked for any Bios updates for your computer?

I have done a scan with the BIOS Agent "product" that says there may be an update --
it's from American Megatrends 12/02/2005 -- BIOS ID 63-0100-000001-00101111-12022005-RS400-RC410-Mg. Various driver scan products show a huge variance in # of drivers they claim there are update for.

Any suggestions on how to verify the BIOS update and get ahold of the correct one and install are greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is a thread I started -- I got an early response, but nothing as of late.

I took a look at your system (the one posted in the other article). I did not find any Bios updates. I did however see a few firmware updates for some of the hardware(HD, DVD, etc...). I dont know if these could cause problems or not. Might be worth checking out.

Bluescreens during a Windows install typically indicate faulty RAM or hard drives. Particularly the former.

Is there any good way to diagnose those? I have had the extra GB of memory in the machine for quite some time, but I could remove it for the install, if I were sure that would do it. I am still wondering about the "missing" Drive options (advanced) that is supposed to be there for the clean install?

I ran Memtest-86 just now and it found no memory errs --
