xming image rendering

I use xming to manage a headless linux server. Every once in a while it
takes 20 seconds or so to draw a single image but otherwise performs
perfectly. Anyone seen this?

64 bit Pro, but I get exactly the same problem with a 32 bit laptop running
home premium.
