windows7 32bit v64bit

I have just purchased windows7 home premium ,it came with 32 bit and 64 bit discs
when i put in the 64 bit disc it will not open ,and ask,s what version of x p I have.
which is 32 bit version , I have installed windows7 32 bit ,but how do I install the 64 bit, I have 4 gig of memoryand a 64 bit processor.

Use the 64Bit disk to install 64Bit Windows 7.

You'll have to do a clean install of Windows 7 x64. You can do an upgrade, but its best to do a clean install for the best performance.

However, it must be done as a clean install rather than the upgrade. Just re-format the partition during the install process and you should be good to go.

I wouldn't say that - I do make mistakes - Thats where my mentor Thrax helps me along. Reading everyones post has helped also.
