Is there a way to get Windows 7 Explorer to just show
drives, directories and files, and NOT "My Documents",
"Libraries", "[Username]", Jump Lists, Homegroup, etc.,
etc., etc.???

To disable the libraries there is a registry hack (IIRC a set of hacks,
really) that I no lost my pointer to. Beyond that I know nothing.

That should read "that I lost my pointer to".

Could it be this one?

http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-...-in-windows-7/

(I got it from this newsgroup, if I'm not mistaken.)

Don't know, it's not the site I used, and even if I downloaded the .reg
file, I'm not sure I'd recognize it any more. The site I used showed the
whole set of registry changes and also provided a .reg file to download.

I disabled the Library on a previous machine and eventually re-enabled
it and just set up the Library to be a little less conspicuous. I don't
like it, but I'm unsure of the implications of killing it. The machine
in question is now erased, which is how I lost the URL. I think I also
got the info from this group, though :-)

This is how I did it. This link is for Libraries, but there are links on
the page for the other items.

When you say "Organise", are you talking about a menu item,
or technique?

I've got a line underneath the Menu bar; blue, and with "Organize" top
left. I only have the Menu bar itself ticked in the drop-down list.
