Windows 7 Task Scheduler.

I want to use the downloading program "eMule" but only in the offpeak
hours 1.00am to 9.00am, in which I have a lower cost rate from the
ISP.

I can start the program easily enough with task scheduler but there
seems no way of switching it off.

To switch eMule on at 1.00am I:

1/ Go to Task Scheduler.

2/ Select "Create Basic Task" on the right.

3/ Use the "Create Basic Task Wizard" in which there is a "Start
Program" option, and this is the one I use. But there's no
corresponding "Stop Program" and this seems strange.

How does one turn off a program via the Task Scheduler"?

Peter

Thanks. I'd really be lost without this newsgroup.

Emule has it's own scheduler which lets you set upload and download
limits at whatever hours of the week you choose.

I don't even have emule, and it took me about five minutes to find this
on the emule web site, http://www.emule-project.net:

I wish people would RTFM before posting questions.

I tried this, but eMule seems to allow a trickle of uploads even when
dormant.

Anyway the Windows Task Scheduler is common to all the torrent
software and so removes the need to struggle with all their
intricacies.

I think that's probably just Emule allowing other computers to scan your
available files list, and putting them on hold till later.
