Hi everyone, yesterday I installed the Windows 7 RC on my laptop computer and was extremely impressed with it. But now, I realize that the option to put my computer into "Sleep" mode is dimmed out and I cannot click it... I am very perturbed about this as when my computer used Windows Vista, I used the function frequently.

If anyone could please advise me as to how to enable "Sleep" mode, please tell me how...

Thank you.

Take a look at "sleep" in the Windows Help (F1).

It could be your video drivers, or your BIOS, or you are not running as administrator.

Welcome to the forum.

Hello Lime, and welcome to the forum. This error may have occured, and is most likely to have occured due to your graphics card drivers not being installed. If you have these drivers on disk, or other removable medium, please install them - I hope this clears up your problem.
I will try and find the link to a seperate thread similar to your problem.

Standby button grayed out/disabled
This is the link about the stand-by button being grayed out. I know you have the sleep button - but it is relevant
