Hi folks! Got Windows 7 running on an old PC... 1ghz Intel and 512MB ram. It runs just as well as XP did from a fresh install, which is amazing for a new os. It even seems to boot a bit faster!

Do you think it could get even faster by the time it comes out for real?

I'm excited about getting the full version for my main computer, as it should fly!

I don't see why the performance would be any worse, so it could be slightly faster once it is released More than likely it will just become bug free, but essentially the same performance on your PC.

Are you dual booting, or using Windows 7 as your main operating system?

Windows 7 is the main os on this machine. It's a previous system which I use to test linux/beta's rather than my new PC.

It seems to have slowed down slightly now that I have all my bits of software back on, especially with Norton 360. I should try AVG and see if that performs any better, but I am still pleased with the performance.
