Anybody ever heard about this GodMode under Vista/Windows 7. The story
is to create a new folder on the desktop (other places might work too)
and rename the folder to the following:

GodMode.{ed7ba470-8e54-465e-825c-99712043e01c}

And supposedly you have new utilities that allow you to do such things
as CHANGE, ALLOW, BACKUP, BLOCK ADD, ADJUST....AND so on.

Yes - we heard about it here, last post less than two weeks ago; the
first post (in that thread) was apparently 2010-Nov-10, and pointed to
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-10423985-56.html .

Later posts suggested that the part of the name before the dot doesn't
have to be "GodMode". I haven't tried that, though I tried it with
GodMode, and it certainly works (or seems to).

Ah okay, I don't check in here too often. So I thought I found something
that you guys didn't know yet. Gosh, I should have known better. ;-)

"GodMode" makes me cringe. Lacking imagination, I call mine "Action" and
include it in the Administrative Tools folder of my Start menu.

I don't think it allows you to do anything that you can't do already
with other applications and tools. It just makes specific functions
easier to find.

I'd heard of it but never tried it. So I tried it and found something I
like.
"View Reliability History" under Action Centre.
And I am plesed to announce that ........ mine is now steady at mach 10,
having recovered from an event when bookworm.exe crashed in mid June due
to me having had the wrong (as I recall) screen resolution settings in
force.

I've got it setup here on my system. So far I haven't found anything on
it that I can't also do through Control Panel or Computer-Manage. It's
useful as an all-encompassing one-stop shop though.

I've had it here for a while, but I almost never use it. It's not
really new utilities, but rather an easier way to access some things.

And to add the above, it's a special view of Windows Explorer.

Don't feel bad, I've been here for the last few months and I guess I
missed it too. I do seem to remember something about GodMode, but it
was probably before getting this new PC with Windows 7 .... and at that
time I was more interesting in things like, will my printer and scanner
work in windows 7 and so on. I just tried it and, of course, it works,
as other have said. Now I have to try to use it.
