W 7 Crt Panel doesn't work on some options. I am trying to get to the place where I can alter time when the comp shuts down. What is the title for this please?

No it has not been solved. Hardly any of the programs are accessible to me.

I reinstalled W 7. Something has improved - Administrative Tools has appeared which has what I want however there is no launch or message given.

Thank You
nof

Hi nof - Welcome to w7forums

Chang when your computer Sleeps, Hibernates, or Shuts Down in "Power Options" which are found here -
Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Power Options

Thanks for the article however I don't have Hardware & Sound listed. I do have power options but it won't open. Somehow I can now see hibernation which is pleasing but I would like to enable Sleep after say, 2 hours. How can I do that please?

All the Control Panel options should work. What is happening when you try to use it? If you get an Error Message, please post it

Thank you for your interest. There are no error messages. This morning I noticed that when the computer is restarted it seems to prompt action on a few programs namely Administrative Tools has just joined list. I mean the list but not the Ctrl Panel which is unresponsive.

It was solved little by little e.g. one day there were six items showing, then a few more. Now I have the full list I think. When they don't start up I do a right click. When I have my wifi problem sorted I will work on this again.

It's possible that items downloaded without my noticing. I was quite shocked actually. It's not foolproof, ever. Life online should be error free. I hate to think of a computer being used in an operating room...

Well.... let their IT people worry about that.

Glad you're getting it sorted, sort of.
