If it's an RC, it's an internal RC. There is no planned second release candidate for the public.

I guess this only lends credence to this news report: http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news...july-2009.aspx BSN does tend to be reputable in their coverage.

Windows 7 RTM before August, anyone?

Yup. Sleep well knowing that is a pretty accurate thing you've said there.

And if it runs as well as 7201(ie: MS doesn't load in a bunch of bloatware between now and then), I will def be 1st in line to buy a new machine with 7 preloaded and an upgrade for my current box on Oct 23.

Happy times a comin`...

Where does all this come from i only downloaded my W 7 on 6/6/2009 and i got Build 7100 when i downloaded it also said i could use it until 30/6 /2010 before i would have to stop using it or buy a licence to use it. So to me this looks a release date sometime around May/June/2010. It seems to me its luck in what build you download i know my version has the same desk tops as on this famous 7224 build listed by some one else in this forum. My build says it Windows 7 Ultimate Proffesional.

Build 7100 was the first Release Candidate and is the most recent build that has been publicly released. Subsequent builds have all been leaked and aren't officially available to download, but some people use torrent websites to get them. I'd just stick with 7100 for now.
