Windows 7 and the internet cache folder.

This is:
\\MASTER\Users\Peter\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\65yucndr.default\Cache

After a session of Internet crusing, all of the photos seem to be
stored here. Even the ones that cannot be saved directly from the
browser screen.

I want to select and save all suitable photos from this "cache" folder
after an Internet session. I can open them using Firefox but only
one at the time - which is tedious - and Windows-explorer type
thumbnails would be useful.

Are there any applications around to do what I want? Windows 7 does
not allow the "always use the selected program to open this kind of
file" option.

Take a look at Irfan View, see if it'll do what you want.

Google will find it for you.

Thanks, I have this and it does show a small thumbnail of the image at
the bottom of the IIrfanView window. However there seems to be no
way to save this image via IrfanView to a normal folder.

Try Nirsoft Mozilla Cach View, it's a free utility, no need to install.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/mozilla_cache_viewer.html

Versions for IE, Chrome, Opera are also available.
