Windows 7 64bit extreme compatibility errors

Usually I would say it doesn't matter, but considering hard drive corruption occured here... I am not sure if the corruption would be at the controller/logic level or include the platter level as well. (I don't think it is likely, though).

It will take a long time but if you can I would suggest the low level format (the long one) for your SATA drive just to play it safe and be absolutely sure. The XP drive should be fine for the reason I gave above.

also, this might not be relevant but, since my steam is broken as well, is it ok if i backup the games i have in my steamapps folder or did the games get corrupted as well?

i just tried one of the games that didn't require steam to be open in order to work (Aion) and the game launches with no issues
