I have a new Windows 7 64 bit PC and an old Epson Stylus Photo printer, with a lifetime supply of ink. THe new PC has no parallel port, so I tried installing the printer via a parallel to USB cable, which was not recognised.
Printer then move to another PC on the network running XP Pro as a shared printer. Epson runs ok from the XP PC and networked from a Vista 32bit PC.
I still appear to need a driver compatible with Windows 7 Pro to enable its use from the new PC.
Anyone tried/succeeded in this?

There are MANY models of Epson Stylus Photo printers. Which model is it?

The Vista 64 bit drivers work very well from Epson on Windows 7 x64. As a matter of fact all Epson did with most of the Vista drivers was add Windows 7 to the list. The driver versions are identical.

Even if there is no model number anywhere on the unit, plug it back into your XP Machine and check the Device Manager. The make and model number of your printer will usually show up under the Printers heading. (You may have to use the View > Show Hidden Devices to see the Printer heading)

If you look at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...oType=Overview you will see it listed as Epson Stylus Photo without any number after it.

I see what you mean now. Lifetime supply of ink or not, sounds like it's time to buy a modern up-to-date printer.

Not trying to be flip, just realistic. If your printer is that old where Epson only shows Windows 98 and Me drivers, it's time to get rid of it.

Hi Andrew Kirby,

What you should do is ask Epson if there is a suitable driver you could use to get your printer working. Maybe one of the drivers for newer models will work with the earlier model you have???

And there is always the way of trial and error to find out ....

Good luck!

Welcome to the forums, Andrew! If by any chance you can't find your drivers through the above suggestions, try posting on Microsoft Answers. That's how I got my Dell Photo Printer 720 to work. Someone posted a driver that wasn't on Dell's list for my printer, but it was a Dell 64 bit driver (or, in my case, a rebranded Lexmark one). Or if you have a ton of inks, use your XP system to use them up, and buy yourself a new printer. They start at $39 and up. Make sure it says "Windows 7 compatible" on the box.
