1) I have an app that I need to install.

It has .vbs and some other types that use windows scripting to run.
I think it is Windows Scripting Host.

It appears taht my Win7 Pro cannot run these.

Yes, i know it is dangerous to run such installs but I know this
software and have installed it on other PCs without problems. The
other PC were XP and Visa OS.

So what do I need to install so I can run these installs?

2) now my desktop is locked up. cannot left or right click on it to
get anything to work but the Start menu functions properly and the task
bar allows starting stuff from it. Got here from the Start menu
because iconon desktop is dead along with all other icons and
right-click is dead too.

What now?

I am sure if I boot it will all come back but I sure would like not to
have to boot all the time and figure out what is going on instead.

Is there a specific reason why you chose to keep it's name a secret?

You're more likely to get help if you tell us what you're trying to
do.
