Repair Install is pretty limited in Windows 7. There are
some rules here. Based on these rules, Microsoft could
make a small fortune, selling SP1 retail disks without
license keys :-( I didn't realize my options, after having
installed SP1, are so grim. With Win2K and WinXP I had
more options (and used them).

Is your problem related to a specific program, such as Windows Live Photo Gallery ?
http://www.sevenforums.com/software/...x80010108.html
The error number 0x80010108 relates to something about RPC (remote procedure call)
and being disconnected. Like a program tries to communicate with some
service, and gets abruptly dropped. In the Sevenforums, they interpreted
that as "inability to locate a resource", which isn't quite the same
thing. So maybe the error number isn't directly indicative of the
problem.
