It's time to replace my old Dell XPS running Win 98 and I'm thinking of a new Dell XPS 8300 that comes with Windows 7- 64 bit. I've got lots of old software like Excel, Works, Games like Flight sim 2002 & 2004, An HP5650 printer and a Canon 1250 scanner and I wonder If any of it would be usable. I need all the advice I can get

Hi Owsley - Welcome to w7forums

Microsoft Compatibility Center
The scanner doesn't appear to have Windows 7 support but you may be able to use Vista Drivers from the link below. However I'm not sure if those drivers will work on a 64-bit system.
