Why can't I access windows 7 system folders?

hello all,

Why can't I access windows 7 system folders?

I have system admin privileges. i also set Folder Option View so i can see hidden system files, etc.

actually what this is all about is being able to cut/paste rich text content running Mozilla/Firefox under W7. they told me to edit: ..\Profiles\user.js. i do not know if that exists in W7?

any ideas on both questions/statements? this has been a issues for weeks now with no success.
