Do you want a PCI-E card style or USB?

Are you sure your existing one won't work? Did you check for drivers for it?

If you want a PCI-E card then I would choose either a D-Link or a Linksys.

Linksys WMP110 IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI RangePlus Wireless PCI Adapter WEP, Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2)

D-Link DWA-552 IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA, WPA2)

For a USB adapter I use Linksys WUSB600N and it wiorks perfectly with no driver installation.

While it is not supposed to make a difference I have often it found it better to use the same maker on both ends. This does not seem to be as much as a problem with 11n, but if you have to buy new, I would look at the same maker as your wireless access point.

Also, it is getting more and more important to look for 32-bit or 64-bit, depending on what OS we are using - at least for a few more years, until 64-bit is commonplace.

You should go to Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility website. Choose hardware, either 64 or 32 bit and enter the adapter you have or want to buy.
